The Pilates Method, originally called Contrology, was created by Joseph Pilates. The system should not only be taught on a mat but on a variety of apparatus – including the Universal Reformer, the Tower, and the Wunda Chair.
The equipment uses spring resistance which provides a strong core workout whilst also stretching and strengthening your body. It is a unique system of exercises on mat and equipment that provides incredible results, producing visible changes in your posture and movement.
The equipment was designed to support your body and help activate smaller muscle groups that support the larger groups and protect you from injury. Ultimately Pilates teaches your body to move in the way that it was intended.
